Day 14 of Senior Project, 23 May 2023

23 May 2023                                                                  2:32pm Blog #14 Today I slept in a little because I am getting sick, but got to work at 9:00, writing and reflecting on graduation and my time at P roctor, till 12:00. I wrote four pieces in three hours and it really helped my see life after proctor. Then headed to advisory to check in with Shauna, just recapping the project and making sure I have checked all my boxes. Then I visited Corby and checked in with him, then Heidi, then headed to lunch. After lunch I headed to the OC and said hi to all the mountain kids and caught up with Jeff. Which made me miss mountain so so much. Now I am writing my blog before I head to the gym. Last blog :(( Bye thank you for reading! Daily : 3 Total : 66

Day 13 of Senior Project, 22 May 2023

22 May 2023                                                     2:20pm Blog #13      Today I woke up and got to work by 8:30. Since I am done binding, and the book is finished I decided to spend these last todays writing again. I want to spend some time returning to my roots of just scripting my thoughts in my notebook. We graduate this Saturday, which feels crazy. Proctor has been my home for so long and has deeply shaped who I am, so I need to spend sometime processing and figuring out how I feel about it. So I wrote from 8:30 to 12:30, collecting my thoughts with ink. Maybe they will go into my next book, or maybe they will be forgotten and buried but either way they are helping me process the next steps of my life. Daily : 4 Total : 63

Week Two Reflecton

Week Two Reflection     This week went off without a hitch. On Monday I finished editing fully and laid out everything with proper formatting to print correctly. Then on Tuesday I bonD my first copy, then edited it, finding a few mistakes and fixing them to begin making final copes to give to family and friends. Wednesday I bond two copies before our tennis match vs Exeter. Then Thursday bond three more and Friday three again, finishing Saturday with another two.      Overall this week was good. I started really excited to learn how to bind and begin the process, yet once I did it, it got boring. Tuesday and Wednesday were fun, learning the process, finding tricks, and having a hardcopy of my book was very gratifying, but on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, I got sick of the repetition and was ready for something new. To balance the borden and get moving again as my knee will along I have been biking a bunch and reading but I am not quite sure what to do Monday and Tuesday.      I thin

Day 12 of Senior Project, 20 May 2023

20 May 2023                                                     4:47PM Blog #12 Last day of senior project, today I slept in a little till 9:00, then got to work bonding two more copies. I got them done, then organized who I am going to give copies too and now I am still in the process of deciding if I want to send a copy to a publisher. Overall the past two weeks have been amazing, it is so gratifying to have really written this book, and truly proved to myself that I could be a writer. Although I really enjoyed the writing, I do have to be honest about the binding. I do enjoy having a hard copy that looks nice and can be put on a shelf or given to family and friends to read but I would rather not bind books again. The process is to monotonous, the first one or two figuring it out was fun but after that I was done. Today in total I worked from 9:00-11:00. Daily : 2 Total : 59/55

Day 11 of Senior Project, 19 May 2023

19 May 2023                                                     4:41pm Blog #11 Today I woke up and headed to the library by 8:00. I printed out three copies and began binding. I have found that the binding process is really boring after 10 copies so I switched up the order, which didn’t help much. So first I made the hard covers, then sowed the pages, then glued everything together. It took till 12:00 to finish these three copies then I went for a bike ride after lunch. I biked up the bike of the ski hill, then down the enduro trail and did a lap of the a loop adding up to a little under six miles and 700ft of elevation. Today it total I worked for 4 hours before biking than hanging out with friends. Daily: 4 Total : 57

Day 10 of Senior Project, 18 May 2023

18 May 2023                                                     7:23pm Blog #10 Today I woke up and decided that I didn't want to spend all day in the library again, so I headed to the field house. I printed three copies, then headed back to dorm to bind from 8:30-12:30. I got three copies done and I realized that although I can write all day, everyday, the monotonous pattern of binding gets boring after a few copies. So after lunch I decided to go mountain biking, I got 8.20 mils in with 1,059ft of elevation climb in an hour or so. I am definitely realizing that I have lost my climbing pace since our last race in the fall. But happily my knee/meniscus didn't bother me at all during the ride, although once my body cooled down my knee was definitely sore, but not swollen so all good. In total I worked from 8:30-12:30, so I got four hours in. Daily : 4 Total : 53

Day 9 of Senior Project, 17 May 2023

17 May 2023                                                                 9:42pm Blog #9      Today I got to work by 8:30, I headed to the library to start binding. I bond two books today, the first one took me from 8:30 - 10:30. Then the second one only took me from 10:30-11:30. After I got those two copies done, I headed back to dorm then lunch. After a quick sandwich I headed to the trainers to met Mel to prep for our match, then headed to Exeter. At our match, although we got sweep and need to have a long discussion with Gregor on why he scheduled that match after the final tournament. we got tres locos on the way back. I got a good nap so overall it was a good day. Daily : 3 Total : 49
